April 2013 Product Recall Information

In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bel Air Lighting, the importer of the lamps, or its Trans Globe Lighting subsidiary, is announcing the recall of about 20, 500 units of nine light chandelier, Lowes #256047 under the Portfolio brand, or Trans globe #2579 EBG. Bel Air Lighting has learned of reports that the mounting loop can fail, causing the chandelier to fall from the ceiling and posing a risk of injury hazard. Bel Air Lighting is aware of 17 reports of the chandeliers falling from the ceilings resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported. Bel Air Lighting is cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to undertake a voluntary recall of these products.

Description: 2579EBG.jpgThe recalled chandeliers are 33” wide by 36” high. The fixtures have nine lights and are made of an antique bronze-colored metal with frosted yellow light shades. The lights are arranged in two tiers with six at the bottom and three at top. The nine lamp holders have a floral pattern, which is repeated on the stem in the middle of the chandelier, at the top of the chandelier body from which the chain extends to the ceiling, and on the bottom part of the chandelier body to which the arms that hold the lower lamps are attached. Two pieces of ornamental scrolling are attached to the top flower-shaped piece and extend down into the area of the top three lights

Item numbers can be found on the ceiling canopy of the chandelier.
